This workshop introduces the Cruxio Bridge: our seven-step method for creating compelling business stories. We illustrate this stepwise approach through the lens of a “Make or Buy?” case study within a C-level team. This realistic scenario is easily accessible to experienced businesspeople and will resonate with anyone who has pitched to senior management. This session will shift your perspective on how you approach advocating for change, whether up, down, or across an organization. Specifically, you’ll experience two principles that we hold dear:
1. The value of approaching story with empathy. In business and science, we have been conditioned to hammer our case home with data, facts, and logic. Often, that’s dragging the unwilling to the unwanted. Instead, by first appreciating our listeners’ wants and needs, identifying their sources of resistance, and responding empathetically, we can build trust, credibility, and craft a case that appeals to their interests.
2. The value of approaching story strategically. Many of the pitch decks we see are doomed by trying to be all things to all people. You’ll learn how we strategically identify the target audience, then tailor the message and arguments to them. Having laid a solid foundation, every Cruxio pitch closes with a realistic, specific call to action.
